Puppet Theatre News 86 (August 1982) was the last issue as an independent zine. Thereafter, PTN effectively folded into Gary Piper’s new zine, The Road Goes Ever On. Pete Mearn’s subzine Reefer Madness was renamed Puppet Theatre News and became a subzine to Road, with Pete Mearns resuming editorship. Colin Bruce stayed on as a Road GM. Towards the end Pete’s numbering system became a little eccentric. The last issue of PTN as a subzine was in Road 21 (October 1985), it was numbered as PTN 102, but it was actually issue 106.
